SlackBuilds Notes on Building From GIT, SVN or CVS As you may have noticed, some of these slackbuilds download from GIT, SVN or CVS and then build a package. Keep Backups! It's not unheard of for repositories to break from time-to-time, therefore it's worth keeping a few of the older packages around in case that happens. Then it's a fairly simple job of reverting to the last one that worked. The more complex the application, the more likely it is to break, so there is always some trade-off between grabbing that latest feature. Enjoy.
